Attending the opening ceremony , closing ceremony and Games Street.
Escorts the teams and guides the audience into their proper places.
Together with those responsible make sure that the opening and closing ceremonies runs smoothly.
On the Games Street, you work as a host and assist with issues and activities that come up.
Happy, positive, structured and helpful are good qualities to have.

PLANNED TIME FOR THE CEREMONY VOLUNTEERS

Opening day 24 june 3-4 hours
Closing day 30 june 2-3 hours
On Games Street will be open sunday to thursday 15.00 – 22.00

Venue host

Requirements and tasks

Venue hosts should be in our stadiums where the games take place and to help with guidance.
Supporting if injuries occur and answering questions about the game and its programs.
Will be offered training in first aid.
Be familiar with the organization and have good contacts with other officials who are in the arena.
Ensure that emergency exits are not blocked and help people find the right way.
You should be flexible and have good initiative.
Ambitious, happy and positive are good qualities to possess.
Driving licens is an advantage.
Understand and speak English.

PLANNED TIME FOR THE VENUE HOST

During the week, eight hour shifts per session, 4-6 days per person.

Hospitality

Requirements and tasks

The task is to show yourself around Visby and the venues to help visitors and residents to find the right way and answer questions about Visby and Gotland.
A good host simply.
You should be well-informed about the games, the competitions and the day’s program.
Advantage of knowing Visby / Gotland
Able to speak and understand English.

PLANNED TIME FOR THE HOSPITALITY VOLUNTEERS

Sunday to Friday, 4,5 hours per day, 10 people per session.
08.00-12.30 and 12.30-17.00

Press

Requirements and tasks

Your job is to guide and take care of both national and international press so that they can do their job as well as possible. Foremost you will work in the press centra in Solberga but you will also be able to be out on the venues to make sure the press gets it’s next scoop.

You should understand and speak english.

PLANNED TIME FOR THE HOSPITALITY VOLUNTEERS

From Saturday until Friday. 5 hours per day.

Ceremonies (medal)

Requirements and tasks

You must attend the award ceremonies at the various venues where the medals will be awarded.
You are responsible for the correct flag is hoisted at the distribution of medals.
You are responsible for that the medals are in place.
You are responsible for ensuring that the national anthem is played at the distribution of medals.
Driving license can be advantageous.
Ability to work under pressure and be able to structure the work is of great advantage.

PLANNED TIME FOR THE CEREMONY VOLUNTEERS

Being involved in the planning regarding the flags and medals weeks before.
Following this week’s schedule for the competition, prize ceremonies from day one to the last day.

Administration

Requirements and tasks

Work at the Games office and work with administrative tasks.
Be IT proficient.
Reading and writing in English is good to be able to do.
Be able to work independently.

PLANNED TIME FOR THE ADMINISTRATION VOLUNTEERS

Be available in the spring on a number of occasions to help out the Games office with administrative tasks, such as Exis.
Be available throughout the week 5 hours per day.

Media and communication

Requirements and tasks

Be available in the press center, but also out on the venues or the Games Office.
You have an important role because social media is an important channel.
Inbound and outbound communications, work with website, social media, such as Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
Helping to disseminate information, create news, perhaps interviewing practitioners and others.
Be able to answer questions about the week’s racing programs and games in their entirety.
Initiative, able to speak and write English and basic knowledge of social media.

PLANNED TIME FOR THE MEDIA AND COMMUNICATION VOLUNTEERS

Be available from opening day to closing day, 8-10 hours per day.
Possibly be involved in the construction of the press center days before.

VIP

Requirements and tasks

Take care of VIP guests and sponsors.
You will be in all sorts of places to serve the guests with daily program and another as desired.
Make sure that the guests feel welcome and safe.
Speak and understand English.
Driver’s license required.

PLANNED TIME FOR THE ADMINISTRATION VOLUNTEERS

Be available throughout the week 8-10 hours per day.

Merchandise

Requirements and tasks

You should sell the goods at the five biggest venues: Gutavallen, ICA Maxi Arena, Volleyball venue (Ice hockey arena), Södervärn and Solbergabadet (swimming).
Sales will also take place at Games Street.
You will assist with some marketing.
You should understand and speak English.

PLANNED TIME FOR THE MERCHANDISE VOLUNTEERS

8 hours per day in 4 hour shifts and two people per event and place.
The day after the Games to help with filing/pick up goods.

Welcoming committee

Requirements and tasks

You are the the first reception for our guests! You receive the guests from the different islands at the airport and the harbor.
You will monitor the arrival of the various islands.
Being at the harbor and at the airport at the departure day and assist with luggage/guidance etc.
The visitors should feel warmly welcome and secure by you from the first moment.
You should be updated on the schedule of the week.
Positive, happy and resourceful are good qualities.
Helping to package goodie bags to be distributed to all participants.

PLANNED TIME FOR THE MERCHANDISE VOLUNTEERS

A few hours on arrival day and departure day.

Attachée

Requirements and tasks

You will be responsible for an island and you will be taking care of the team manager from that island.
You will need to keep you updated about the games and answer questions throughout the week.
Understand and speak one or more of the following languages: English, Greek, Spanish, Faroese, Danish, Estonian, Greenlandic and Norwegian.
Experience in the sports world is a plus.
Good if you have local knowledge and know a bit of history of Visby/Gotland.
Drivers license is required.

PLANNED TIME FOR THE ATTACHÈE VOLUNTEERS

Contact island before the end of the year via e-mail and tell them about yourself and welcome them.
Find out some information about the island you will host.
From the time the island arrives to departures, the attachés will be available, there will be two attachés on most islands. Working hours per day will be able to vary between 7:00 to 22:00. Those who have large teams generally require more time.

Helping hand

Requirements and tasks

You should be flexible to help with whatever comes up.
An interesting and exciting task.
Everything from driving flags, collect medals, help the Games Street to pack goodie bags for the Games.
Help all the other volunteers out when they need.
Responsible, stress and helpful are good qualities for this.

PLANNED TIME FOR THE HOSPITALITY VOLUNTEERS

Be available from the opening day to the last day, the whole day but times and the tasks will be varied.
5 active between 8:00 to 14.00 and 5 active from 14:00 to 20:00.
