As Visby is not the biggest of cities we strongly recommend renting a bicycle as you are able to go where you want when you want with full flexibility. To make it easier on the longer distances all buses will be free of charge in Visby and on the entire island.
All buses on Gotland will be free of charge from Sunday-Friday when you show your NatWest Island Games accreditation.
In Visby we will have three NatWest Island Games bus loops that will take you from your accommodation to all the venues in Visby. These buses will go continuously all day with greater frequency in the mornings and afternoons, see timetables below. The bus hub for these buses will be at Kajsarporten which is right next to the normal bus hub and right outside of Gutavallen, where the athletics takes place.
The local public transportation goes as it does all summer and you can use the app “Ridango” to find timetables and a travel planner. You can also check out the entire timetable of all buses here: Time schedule for public transportation.
